A medical outreach has unearthed underlying health challenges with more than 300 patients tested, confirmed and treated for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) within a week, prompting a call for interventions.

Several cases of HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia are still being reported at health facilities, according to the district health department.

One of the patients from Busu Village, Buwaaya Sub County, told this publication that due to the lack of awareness, she is still battling conditions, including pain, irritation, and abnormal discharge.
