In a message posted on the social network X, the United States congratulated President-elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye for “his electoral victory” as well as the Senegalese people for their “participation in a peaceful, transparent, and inclusive electoral process,” wrote U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
The United States did not fail to inform the newly elected leader that they are “ready to work with the new government of Senegal on our common priorities.”
