Senegal: Unexpected Revelation by Madiambal Diagne about the Transition President

Following the unexpected announcement by President Macky Sall on Thursday morning, stating that he would step down on April 2nd, Madiambal Diagne reveals an additional detail.

According to the journalist and leader of the Avenir Communication group, the President plans to approach the seven wise men starting tomorrow, Friday, to request the appointment of an interim president. This important decision will be a turning point in Senegalese political history.

“His decision is final. Macky Sall has informed us that he will write to the Constitutional Council on March 1st, 2024, to specify that he is leaving his office at the end of his term and he invites the CC to install an interim president on April 2nd, 2024,” wrote Madiambal Diagne on X.
