Amadou Ba, the candidate of the presidential majority, is facing financial and other difficulties at the beginning of the electoral campaign. However, Seydou Gueye, the spokesperson for the APR, is trying to tone down the situation.

The treatment of Amadou Ba’s electoral campaign by the majority could be interpreted as a sabotage and destabilization effort. However, Seydou Gueye, the spokesperson for the APR, explains that the slow start of the campaign is partially due to Ramadan. He assures that the funding will come. Mr. Gueye explains that although the start of the campaign has been a bit slow and there is a delay in the provision of resources, the candidate, the coalition, senior officials, and President Macky Sall himself are all contributing to mobilize the necessary resources. According to him in L’Obs, “there is no need to be alarmed.”
