This couple living in Mbour recounts the adventures of their prison stay. With revelations about bananas or cassava that could awaken sexual appetites…

The Mbaye couple, recently released from prison after being convicted of assault, violence, and attacks against their neighbors, shares their prison experience.

Codou Thiongane, one of the former inmates, remembers the many sleepless nights caused by sexual desire.

She reveals in L’Obs a curious rule of the prison: it is strictly forbidden for female prisoners to bring bananas or cassava into their cell on the pretext that they could use them for sexual purposes.

Codou also expresses the difficulty of not being able to share the same cell as her husband for six months and highlights the difficult moments they experienced during their incarceration.

Her husband, Birane Mbaye, adds that among men, late at night, the cell block leader turns off the television to prevent inmates from watching pornographic movies, as even the image of a woman on television can arouse desire in a prisoner.
