“Ten (10) deputies and 30 federation leaders of the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) have decided to join Amadou Ba without waiting for the official position of their party.” Wrong! The PDS deputies of the Parliamentary Group “Freedom, Democracy and Change” denied these reports that were circulated by some media outlets last week. In a statement released on Thursday, Me Abdoulaye Wade’s party denied and called the allegations false.
“As President of the parliamentary group, and on behalf of all the deputies affiliated with the Senegalese Democratic Party, I categorically deny these false allegations,” the note reads.
“The PDS deputies as disciplined activists and leaders” inform that they “comply with the decision of the brother National Secretary General who is the only one authorized to make decisions for the party, according to our internal regulations.”
However, they remind the public that it was “the PDS deputies who led the fight for the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry commission into the suspicions of corruption involving some judges of the Constitutional Council by candidate Amadou Ba.”
In conclusion, “all the PDS deputies reaffirm their commitment to the brother SGN, Master Abdoulaye Wade, and ask the members to remain united and listen to the party.”
