The new Prime Minister of Senegal, Sidiki Kaba, officially took office on Saturday in Dakar. During his speech, he promised to “take all necessary measures to ensure the security of all candidates” during the electoral campaign for the presidential election scheduled for February 24.
This declaration was made in the presence of his predecessor, Amadou Ba, who is a candidate for the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition (BBY, the presidential majority), and to whom he assured that “the State will take all measures to protect all candidates during the electoral campaign.”
Sidiki Kaba, formerly Minister of the Interior, spoke at the handover ceremony following the dissolution of the government by President Macky Sall.
