Each animal has its subtle way of hiding to escape multiple dangers, of being alert to catch its prey more effectively, and of moving to be in better harmony with the surrounding nature.
Humans think they are inventing a behavior when they are actually just foolishly copying an animal from their environment, their subconscious, and their mythology.
Some men wear a piece of lion skin. They want to be seen as lions in the eyes of others. They hope that everyone they encounter will sit with them, fear them if they cannot respect them.
Some have amulets containing monkey hair. They want to be elusive, impossible to pin down, always able to escape a precarious situation, and finally, turn around unscathed as if by magic, maliciously observing the unfortunate trapped.
A few possess a horn in which a scavenger’s head is wrapped. They are said to be immune to the sight, speech, and soul-eaters. These despicable individuals, protected from curses, have no qualms about practicing the vilest attacks on others to achieve their goals.
Snake skin collected during a molt is said to have magical properties when a person washes with water in which it is soaked. This person will be permanently protected against sorcerers who will receive in return the deadly bite of an invisible and elusive cobra.
Animals and plants are becoming less and less our companions. Indeed, homes are increasingly encroaching on forests, wetlands, their favorite places.
There are still healers who have mastered the art of harnessing the forces that fauna and flora hold for the benefit of humans.
There are also charlatans, many in these times of depression, high cost of living, and ubiquitous social networks, seeking to get rich quick. They prey easily on those who, like them, want to get rich without working, without effort, and away from prying eyes of neighbors.
There is a unique human species, a special category. One wonders how people of this species can exist, live, and even have a long life.
Imagine people who spend their time nodding without ever doing a little bit of what they say they agree with.
Human beings who do the exact opposite of what they claim to accomplish.
People who have an exceptional ability to do everything as slowly as possible. They inhibit everyone. They have the ability to paralyze everyone while no one is unaware of their scheme.
Finally, this human category has the ability to change direction, color, shape, to blend into their environment, without any roughness, without any dissonance, without any discord.
They are specialists in deadly surprise attacks on everything around them.
These beings are dangerous to society. Because they are the main destroyers of our values, the destroyers of the threads that weave our living together, and the predators of the rules and institutions that govern us.
These harmful beings are the followers of baths in canaries with the skins and heads of chameleons.
They end up being chameleon-men.
Unfortunately, we are living in the time of chameleon-men.
Beware of chameleon-men!
