Aliou Mamadou Dia, the candidate of the AMD 2024 coalition, could not have found a more symbolic place to speak about peace, so dear to Casamance, than Place Jean II in Ziguinchor. This southern region has been plagued by a crisis that has lasted for decades. It is here that he launched his call for a Senegal of Peace and tranquility, asking the daughters and sons of the country to put the nation above all else. He has committed to definitively resolving the Casamance crisis in his capacity as the fifth President of the Republic of Senegal.

Furthermore, the presidential candidate has expressed his willingness to put an end to the isolation of natural Casamance.

AMD is clear. The solution will involve navigability between Ziguinchor and the rest of Senegal, such as Joal, Foundiougne, Mbour, Kayar, etc. The “candidate of the people” also wants to create High-Speed Train (TGV) lines between the southern, northern, and central regions of Senegal.

In addition, he has made agriculture a priority sector. Aliou Mamadou Dia wants to enhance agricultural production, as well as aquaculture and fish farming, making Casamance the granary of Senegal. The PUR candidate is committed to eradicating poverty in Senegal. This will involve, among other things, industrialization and revitalizing tourism. He is aware of the potential of the Ziguinchor region in terms of tourist sites. He has pledged to capitalize on them, once he is at the helm of the country, on the evening of March 24, 2024.
