President Macky Sall has been shouting from the rooftops that he will leave power on April 2nd. But before he leaves, the executive director of the Senegal branch of Amnesty International gives him one last piece of advice.
He asks the head of state to apologize for the authoritarian excesses and missteps of his regime.
“He owes an apology to the Senegalese people for the authoritarian excesses and missteps of his regime, which have caused so much suffering and tarnished the image of our democracy. He must organize an impeccable election and prevent the country from descending into a destabilizing post-electoral crisis,” Seydi Gassama wrote on his Twitter account.
