Minister Advisor Oumar Sow does not let go of President Macky Sall and his successor Bassirou Diomaye Faye following the meeting on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Contrary to many Senegalese who praised this meeting, the Cojer coordinator believes that the newly elected Head of State came to thank his financial support and Campaign Director.

“After his victory, he came to thank his financial support doubled as campaign director. What a shame, you have just ruined the careers of thousands of young executives who have supported him for over 14 years. Macky supports Sonko, Sonko supports Diomaye,” he declared.

It should be recalled that this meeting took place just days before the handover ceremony between the two Presidents.

The close associate of Amadou Ba had, in an interview with our colleagues at Igfm, expressed the same views. Oumar Sow revealed: “On Friday night to Saturday, around one in the morning, Ousmane Sonko and President Macky Sall met in a car parked near the public garden behind the President’s residence on the eve of the opponent’s trip to Ziguinchor.”

Still facing Igfm journalists, Oumar Sow added: “Macky Sall was the Campaign Director for the Sonko and Diomaye coalition.” According to Oumar Sow, “Macky Sall took billions and gave them to Ousmane Sonko.”

However, the President of the Republic stated that this “meeting” at the palace was an opportunity for the two men to discuss “in-depth the major state issues, as well as the swearing-in ceremony and transfer of power.”

“This meeting was followed by a visit to the presidential palace, where discussions continued in a solemn setting, marking the beginning of a significant political transition,” the note adds.
