Senegal: Macky Sall invites political actors and citizens to vote on Sunday in peace and serenity

The President of the Republic, in a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, invited political actors and citizens to go vote on Sunday peacefully and serenely in order to preserve Senegal’s democratic achievements.

“(…) the President of the Republic asked political actors and citizens to preserve our democratic achievements by voting on March 24, 2024, in peace and serenity,” the Cabinet’s statement reported.

The same source mentioned that at the beginning of his address, the President of the Republic “mentioned the holding of the presidential election on Sunday, March 24, 2024, praising the government, defense and security forces, and the Senegalese Administration as a whole for all the measures taken to ensure a good organization of the election in Senegal and abroad.”

Macky Sall also praised “the smooth running of the electoral campaign in peace and respect for the rule of law to strengthen the radiance of Senegalese democracy and the solidity of our institutions.”
