Deputy Bara Gaye spoke firmly during the ongoing vote on the amnesty law in the National Assembly, stating that this law should not be adopted. He emphasized that the justification of government authorities was based on the existence of occult forces among the protesters.

According to him, in order to preserve the memory of the victims, it is necessary to accept amnesty, but it is essential to first identify the responsible parties. He directly addressed President Macky Sall, indicating to him that he did not need this law and that he missed the opportunity to stand out.

Bara Gaye, a former member of the Senegalese Democratic Party, reminded President Macky Sall of his ability to suppress political demonstrations. He referred to a demonstration in 2011 near the Presidential Palace, which did not result in any deaths. He emphasized that under the current mandate, there have been a significant number of injured individuals, cases of torture, and especially deaths from real bullets, which should not be ignored.
