His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who was elected President of the Republic of Senegal.

“The Senegalese people have entrusted you with the responsibility of leading your nation by electing you, in the first round, as President of the Republic of Senegal. I congratulate you and extend my best wishes for success in the exercise of your high duties,” said His Majesty the King in the message.

The Sovereign reaffirms that “our two peoples form a community of values and destiny based on the solid cultural and spiritual tradition that is a constant in the relations between our two countries,” expressing the deep esteem that His Majesty the King holds “for the historical depth of these unbreakable ties of brotherhood, solidarity, and high regard that unite us.”

“The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Senegal also constitute a model of fruitful, dense, and multidimensional cooperation,” notes the Sovereign, ensuring His resolute willingness to work alongside the President of the Republic of Senegal “to diversify and strengthen our promising strategic partnership, for the benefit of our two youth and in favor of a united and prosperous Africa.”

“The privileged bond between Morocco and Senegal is a precious legacy that our two countries have always been able to honor. You can count on the faithful disposition of the Kingdom to cooperate in its extension and consolidation,” concluded His Majesty the King.
