The leader of Taxawu, Khalifa Ababacar Sall, has invited close associates of Barthélémy Dias and supporters of Sonko to a dialogue in order to strengthen the ties between the two camps. This comes after the clashes that occurred during the rally of the Front for the Defense of Democracy. The former mayor of Dakar deemed the incident “unacceptable and ungraceful.”
Khalifa Ababacar Sall, the head of Taxawu, broke his silence to denounce the clashes that took place during the rally of the Front for the Defense of Democracy last Saturday at the Hlm Grand Yoff field. He called the incident “unacceptable and ungraceful” before urging both camps to engage in dialogue.
“How can one claim to lead the country while fighting in division? It is necessary for everyone to come to their senses. The most important thing is to unite towards the common goal for which we are heading. Above all, to ensure that the 19 selected candidates participate in the presidential election as soon as possible. It will then be up to God to choose who will lead the country. I hope it will be me,” he stated.
Furthermore, the former member of YAW expressed his readiness to play a role as a mediator in this regard. “If possible, I will work to bring together the different parties so that peace is restored among us. This is something I have always worked towards. Because the strength of the opposition lies in its unity and exchanges among its members,” noted Khalifa Sall.
