On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, will mark the official inauguration of the new President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in his functions as head of state and supreme commander of the Senegalese armed forces. The solemn swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Diamniadio exhibition center.
During this traditional republican event, in front of the seven sages of the Constitutional Council, as well as Senegalese citizens and prestigious guests, including around fifteen heads of state, His Excellency Diomaye Faye will solemnly pledge to respect and uphold the Constitution of the Republic.
The swearing-in ceremony will be followed by a handover ceremony at the Presidential Palace, where the outgoing President, Macky Sall, will officially pass the torch to his successor, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The new resident of Avenue Léopold Sédar Senghor will thus officially begin his five-year term at the helm of the country.
