Former Prime Minister Amadou Bâ was expected in Kaffrine alongside President Macky Sall, but it was ultimately only the chosen candidate of the executive leader who paraded alongside Mayor Abdoulaye Seydou Sow, Departmental Council President Abdoulaye Wilane, Minister of Culture and Historical Heritage Aliou Sow, and other personalities from the region.
Considered a stronghold of power, the people of Kaffrine responded massively to the call of the candidate chosen by President Macky Sall. Men and women gathered in the streets of the Ndoucoumane capital, waiting until late at night for Amadou Bâ to arrive. The candidate Amadou Ba finally arrived in the region at 1:10 a.m.
Facing his supporters and sympathizers, Amadou Ba promised, among other things, one million jobs for young people, 50 billion as special funds for each region, and a monthly allowance for people aged 65 such as farmers and artisans who do not receive a retirement pension.
“I am committed to consolidating the achievements of this regime above all else,” stated candidate Amadou Ba, who aims to expand social security benefits to 500,000 people.
The former Prime Minister also announced that if elected, he would ensure that the toll highway passing through Kaolack would be extended to Kaffrine and Tambacounda.
“I will be the president of the Senegalese people and I will ensure that disabled individuals and women benefit from positive discrimination. For this, we will need to streamline our regional administrations for better organization,” he added before stating that with all the changes to be made, the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE) could be achieved by 2030 instead of 2035.
