Incarcerated and placed in pretrial detention for two cases, Assane Gueye alias Azura Fall spent a year in Reubeuss prison. Known as the flag bearer of leader Ousmane Sonko, Azoura Fall was released a few weeks ago.

His release caused a stir on social media. While some internet users celebrated this judicial decision, others were outraged after seeing photos of the member of the former party Pastef with a crutch.

Invited to the Jotaayu Justice program, Azoura Fall talked about his time in Reubeuss prison. The Pastef activist revealed that he “almost lost the use of his legs in prison.”
