Marius Sagna reacted on Monday to the decision of the National Audiovisual Regulation Council (Cnra) to “deprive” candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye of airtime on RTS.

The airtime for candidate Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye on March 10, 2024 is not being broadcast by the public television, RTS, as “airtime is reserved for candidates running for president on the list determined and published by the Constitutional Council,” according to a statement from the National Audiovisual Regulation Council released on the same day.
The CNRA cites one of its provisions that sets “the number, duration, schedules, and modalities of the election propaganda program reserved for presidential candidates” broadcast by the Senegalese Radio Television (RTS).
“Considering that the National Audiovisual Regulation Council noted that the airtime for candidate Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye was used by someone other than the candidate himself, it was decided that the airtime for March 10, 2024 for candidate Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye will not be broadcast,” the same source explains.
