On Monday, April 1, 2024, around 4:31 am, a violent traffic accident shook the road from Yoff, specifically in the direction of Yoff – Dakar. The toll was heavy: three victims, two of whom lost their lives.
Captain Aissatou Keïta, commander of the 12th firefighting and rescue company of the firefighters of Dieuppeul, found himself at the scene of the accident. Alerted to the tragedy, his team intervened quickly, just minutes after being informed of the situation. The scene was horrific.
“When we arrived, we discovered three victims trapped in a small car. We extracted them all, but unfortunately, two were already deceased,” declared Commander Keïta.
According to her testimony, the accident was caused by a skid followed by a rollover. The victims, young men who had already been identified, were immediately transported to the hospital once some of their family members arrived at the scene.
