The Public Prosecutor has entrusted the file in the Baïdy Amar case to the judge of the 9th chamber, for the opening of a judicial investigation. The prosecutor has requested a detention order.
The noose is tightening around the friends of the late Baïdy Amar. Brought before the police of Plateau on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 for the offense of drug use, their case has been strengthened by the Public Prosecutor. The prosecutor has targeted other offenses, including involuntary manslaughter.
According to information from Seneweb, the prosecutor has opted for a judicial investigation. He has entrusted the case to the judge of the 9th chamber of the court of Dakar.
In his introductory requisition, the chief prosecutor targeted the offenses of drug use, facilitation of use, and involuntary manslaughter. He requested a detention order against all the defendants. The magistrate is looking for an ad hoc clerk for the indictment. It remains to be seen whether he will follow the prosecutor’s requisition to send them to prison or whether he will place them under judicial supervision.
The friend of the late Baïdy Amar, Z. F., and his Algerian girlfriend, his French friend, and his driver are in trouble.
The young Baïdy Amar died from an overdose in an apartment in Dakar-Plateau. The elements of the investigation, conducted by the police of Plateau, revealed that he was participating in a party with his friends. His girlfriend M. D., of Algerian nationality, his friend Z. F., his French girlfriend J. M., and the driver A. S. were arrested for drug use. A quantity of 25g of cocaine was found in the apartment.
