The “Dionne 2024” coalition is fully engaged in its electoral campaign. Yesterday, the coalition supporting the candidacy of former Prime Minister Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne toured the suburbs of Dakar as part of its caravan. In Guédiawaye, where he made a declaration, the candidate promised, if elected, to establish vocational training centers in all municipalities in the Dakar region and in all departments of the country “to allow young people to have a profession”. But above all, Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne called on the “Democrats” and “Republicans” of Senegal to join him in forming an inter-coalition around the Dione2024 coalition to “protect the nation from the dangers of violent extremism.”
For the second day of the campaign, the “Dionne 2024” coalition covered a large area across the suburbs of Dakar. The caravan of the coalition enjoyed a massive crowd on Monday in the streets of the Dakar suburbs. Leaving its headquarters in Sipres, the caravan headed towards Guédiawaye passing through “22”, “Case-Bi” before going to “Dépôt gaz” and Golf Sud. From Fith Mith to Guédiawaye, a huge crowd accompanied the candidate Mahammed Boun Abdallah Dionne, who is one of the favorites to succeed Macky Sall.
Taking the floor, the candidate of the “Dionne 2024” coalition reassured the populations who gathered in large numbers in Guédiawaye Canada. He explained his program that attracted men and women present at the event. Even passers-by were attentive to the speech of the President of “Dionne 2024” who did not forget to make a commitment to the youth, whom he promises special treatment if elected President of the Republic of Senegal on the evening of March 24, 2024.
“Guédiawaye, today we have decided to come to the suburbs. Suburbs mean youth and youth mean employment but above all youth mean security. On March 24, if our compatriots choose me to be the President of the Republic, I pledge to build a vocational training center in each department of Senegal, to enable all young people to have a profession. As for the capital region, which is the Dakar region, we will not fail to take into account its particularity by building a vocational training center in each municipality of the Dakar region,” promised the former Prime Minister.
Furthermore, the candidate appeals to religious leaders. “I would like to salute the important role they play in the security, peace, and stability of our country, Senegal. But it is because in Senegal, we have the Islamic brotherhood which helps us greatly to secure our country. It is true that it is the State’s responsibility to take care of security, but the State cannot do everything. That is why society and the active forces must participate in securing our country, especially as insecurity is escalating with the threat of terrorism. That is why our Islamic brotherhood is our greatest chance,” he declared, while also calling on all progressive forces, all those who believe in democracy and the republic, to join his coalition for the formation of an inter-coalition around the coalition.
