Senegal: Arrival of Adama Barrow, Embalo, and Julius Madabio in Dakar for the swearing-in of Diomaye Faye

Bassirou Diomaye Faye, elected President of the Republic of Senegal in the March 24th election, will take the oath tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2nd. He will succeed outgoing President Macky Sall, whose term ends on the same day.

An official swearing-in ceremony organized by the Constitutional Council is scheduled for 11:00 am at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD). The presence of around fifteen heads of state is expected.

Some have already arrived in the Senegalese capital. These include the President of The Gambia, Adama Barrow, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, and the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio. The President of the Transitional Council of Mali has also arrived in Dakar. Ivory Coast is represented by its Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné. All these personalities were welcomed at the Dakar Yoff airport by Prime Minister Sidiki Kaba. Other heads of state are expected to arrive on Tuesday.
