Important announcement for passport applicants in Senegal. The price of a Senegalese passport is 20,000 FCFA, payable at the Directorate of Registration of Domains and Stamp. In case of loss or theft, obtaining a duplicate is necessary.
According to our colleagues at emedia, the price of the duplicate has doubled. “If you apply for a passport for the first time, you pay 20,000 FCFA. Normally, in case of theft or loss, the price to obtain a duplicate remains the same. But this amount has been increased and is now 40,000 FCFA,” the source specifies.
Furthermore, a project is being studied to extend the validity of the ordinary passport from 5 to 10 years, with a corresponding increase in the acquisition cost.
