The Office of the Baccalaureate is organizing a special operation to issue diplomas from April 15 to 26. The operation concerns baccalaureate holders from the years 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2019. However, only those who had already submitted a request for physical or online withdrawal before March 1, 2024, are eligible.

Practically, the office has identified two temporal sequences. From April 15 to 19, 2024, baccalaureate holders from 2011 and 2019 who have already made a request can collect their diplomas between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm. As for the graduates of 2012 and 2013, they are invited to come between April 22 and 26 at the same hours.

Regarding the conditions for retrieval, the office specifies: “no other person can collect the diploma on your behalf.” To leave with the diploma, the applicant who made a physical deposit must necessarily present one of the following identification documents: National Identity Card, passport, or valid consular card. Those who made an online request must present one of these aforementioned documents plus the provisional certificate of success in the baccalaureate.

A similar initiative was already taken from March 3 to 8 for the baccalaureate holders of the year 2010. Perhaps this is a way for the new director of the baccalaureate office, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Guèye, to clear the significant backlog of diplomas. He is following the path laid out by his predecessor, Professor Sossé Ndiaye, who did important work in this regard.

Even today, thousands of baccalaureate holders have still not received their diplomas due to a previously defective system. The new generations are luckier in this regard as they can now directly obtain their diploma instead of a certificate of success.
