Critiqued for expressing reservations about the amnesty bill proposed by President Macky Sall for the benefit of Sonko and Diomaye, Khalifa Sall has responded to his critics. “We were against the amnesty because we had a problem with crimes of blood. That was the real issue, because the amnesty did not take that into account. But at no point did Taxawu oppose this project just to oppose the release of anyone,” clarified Khalifa Sall in QG.

Khalifa Sall is very happy about the release of Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko and his associate Bassirou Diomaye, who is now a presidential candidate.

In response to criticism over his reservations regarding the amnesty project proposed by President Macky Sall for the benefit of Sonko and Diomaye, Khalifa Sall has defended his position. He explained that their opposition was not about preventing the release of individuals but was instead focused on their concerns about crimes involving bloodshed not being taken into account in the amnesty. Sall emphasized that the issue they had with the amnesty proposal was primarily related to this oversight.

Despite their reservations about the amnesty proposal, Khalifa Sall clarified that their opposition was not meant to hinder the release of any individuals, including Sonko and Diomaye. He stated that Taxawu was not against the project solely to oppose the liberation of specific individuals but rather to address the omission of crimes involving bloodshed in the proposed amnesty.

Khalifa Sall expressed his satisfaction at the release of Ousmane Sonko, the leader of Pastef, and Bassirou Diomaye, who is now a candidate in the presidential election. He emphasized that while they had concerns about the amnesty bill, they were not against the release of Sonko and Diomaye specifically.

In conclusion, Khalifa Sall’s response to critics regarding his reservations about the amnesty bill proposed by President Macky Sall reflects his belief that their opposition was grounded in concerns about crimes involving bloodshed not being addressed in the proposed legislation. Despite this opposition, Sall clarified that their stance was not intended to prevent the release of individuals such as Sonko and Diomaye, and he expressed his satisfaction at their liberation.
