Upon leaving the RTS for the recording of his airtime, the candidate of the Benno Bokk Yakkar coalition was questioned about the purge that his close associates were victims of in Sidiki Kaba’s new government.
Amadou Ba laughed it off before telling the press, “No, we should not think in this way. I think we are heading towards an election, we need everyone in the field to work. And the Benno Bokk Yakkar coalition will emerge victorious.”
It is worth noting that on Friday evening, ministers known to be close to Amadou Ba, a presidential candidate of the BBY coalition, were removed from the new government. They include Cheikh Oumar Hann, the mayor of Ndioum and former Minister of National Education, Lat Diop, the former Managing Director of the Senegalese National Lottery (Lonase) and Minister of Sports. Doudou Ka, who experienced a rapid rise with the arrival of his mentor as Prime Minister, saw his Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Cooperation handed over to Mamadou Moustapha Ba.
