Despite the heat, Ramadan, and the political uncertainty looming during this election campaign season, the mayors of Tivaoune, Pambal, Pire, Niakhene, Taiba Ndiaye, Mbayene, Monrollant, the ministers Antoine Mbengue, Abdou Ndene Sall, the President of the Departmental Council, and several dignitaries of the Tijanya capital rolled out the red carpet for the candidate of Benno Bokk Yakaar this Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
The elected officials of the 18 municipalities in the department, united for a triumph of Bby on the evening of March 24, expressed their support and commitment to Prime Minister Amadou Ba.
Very appreciative of this outpouring of support, the Prime Minister valued the unity, but especially the determination of the local leaders to lead him to the head of the executive.
Not undermining religious coexistence and harmony between brotherhoods
Tivaoune is a religious city that makes all Senegalese proud, just like other brotherhoods and religions. That is why, as Amadou Ba states, “We must be careful of the speeches we deliver. In the era of gas and oil exploitation, we must all exercise restraint and be mindful of the messages we convey. I cannot understand how fellow citizens can deliver speeches that might undermine coexistence between different religious beliefs or brotherhoods.”
A presidency focused on social issues
A parenthesis quickly closed by the Prime Minister who announces, “during our term, we will triple the number of existing infrastructures here in Tivaoune. We will reinforce infrastructure, multiply and enhance financing dedicated to youth and women, and provide one million jobs for youth.”
To stay current in Tivaoune where religious education plays a significant role in the lives of the population, Amadou Ba informs that his mandate will focus on modernizing daaras in line with the needs expressed by the Quranic school leaders and parents of talibes. Still in the social realm, the PM mentions the family security scholarship program, which has already reached 300,000 families. “We will expand it to 500,000 families during our presidency, in addition to drastically reducing the prices of essential goods.”
The standard-bearer of Benno was preceded at the microphone by the Mayor of the municipality, Demba Diop Sy, who declared, “We will not let anyone play with the destiny of the nation. Macky Sall has designated Amadou Ba to us. We comply with his instructions. Macky Sall is a man of his word. He has stated on different occasions that Amadou remains his one and only choice. We will carry out his will on the evening of March 24, 2024.”
Antoine Mbengue echoes the same sentiment and specifies in passing that on behalf of all mayors and political leaders of the majority, he takes the floor to remind that Amadou Ba is by far the best candidate for these electoral contests.
