My dear compatriots,
After the proclamation of the final results of the presidential election on March 24, 2024, and the official installation of the elected President, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all Senegalese people.
Every stakeholder in the electoral process – voters, candidates, organizers, regulators, supervisors, observers, religious and traditional authorities – played their part perfectly to allow our beloved Senegal to shine once again among democratic nations.
The Senegalese people have shown the world a lesson in maturity and serenity in their desire for peace and democratic ideals, faithful to their long tradition of hospitality.
I also extend my gratitude to the outgoing President, President Macky Sall, for his exemplary work at the helm of Senegal, but also for choosing me as the candidate of the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition. I express my gratitude to all the leaders and supporters of this large coalition and the broader outgoing presidential majority.
I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the elected President, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and wish him every success in his mission at the helm of the state, to the great joy of the Senegalese people.
My dear compatriots,
For several weeks, we have come together and exchanged ideas around the project of peace for shared prosperity that I had the honor of carrying. More than one in three voters endorsed this project.
This is an achievement we must preserve and strengthen, as it represents the foundation from which we must continue our work.
We must also expand it to all political and social forces that share our ideals.
Together, we will do so in our new role as democratic and republican opposition, respectful of institutions, to prepare for future victories, on the path of a reconciled, prosperous, and just Senegal that remains the horizon of my commitment.
For my part, and more than ever, I remain resolutely committed and ready to lead and win the battles of the future. It is in this stance that I urge all republicans and democrats in our country to strengthen cohesion and unwavering solidarity.
Long live the Republic!
Long live Senegal!
Amadou BA
