Saudi Arabia is considered one of the countries that has invested the most in financing economic and social development projects since Tunisia’s Independence. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries is reflected in over 60 agreements covering several areas, with 20 more agreements under negotiation. Three main structures form the space of cooperation between the two countries, namely: the Tunisian-Saudi Joint Commission, the Monitoring and Political Consultation Commission, and the Tunisian-Saudi Business Council.

Economically, Saudi Arabia ranks as the third largest Arab investor in Tunisia with over 40 companies. The investment portfolio amounts to around 1.809 billion dinars. The Tunisian and Saudi parties have agreed to increase the capital of the Tunisian-Saudi bank to the tune of 22 million US dollars.

In addition, an agreement was reached to finance the renovation of phosphate transport lines, between Tunisia and the Saudi Development Fund, valued at 55 million dinars, a preferential loan signed on February 22, 2024. Other cooperation agreements cover the health sector, cultural exchanges, and diplomatic relations.
