These new routes should provide a bi-weekly service linking Agadir to Bournemouth, with flights scheduled every Monday and Thursday. This is another step in the expansion of Ryanair, which makes Agadir its 19th destination from Bournemouth Airport.

This expansion follows a successful 2023 season for the airline, which responded to increasing demand by stationing a second aircraft at Bournemouth Airport.

Steve Gill, the Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, expressed confidence in the airport’s growth trajectory, predicting over a million passengers for the year 2024. Ryanair’s arrival in Agadir strengthens this optimistic forecast.

For Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair DAC, the connection between Bournemouth and Morocco holds strategic importance in the airline’s investment vision. This initiative is part of a substantial $1.4 billion investment planned for Morocco this summer.

Ryanair is committed to facilitating the transport of over five million passengers to Morocco this year, demonstrating its willingness to expand its reach and offer affordable travel options to various destinations.

This decision aligns with Morocco’s preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, as part of a joint bid with Spain and Portugal. Ryanair’s summer 2024 program anticipates a significant increase in air traffic to, from, and within Morocco.

In December 2023, Ryanair announced the establishment of a fourth base in Morocco in Tangier, as part of a $200 million investment plan and the introduction of two aircraft, confirming its commitment to strengthening its presence in the Moroccan market.
