New roads constructed under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme (GKMA-UDP) have triggered a surge in development and land values in beneficiary villages of Wakiso District, with residents reporting an influx of buyers and real estate developers.
Sections of the 12.17-kilometre Bukasa-Ssentema-Kakiri Road have already been tarmacked, giving residents hope of improved transport and increased economic activity. The road is expected to be completed on November 2.
