Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi received a team of three members from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in audience on February 23, 2024.
On a mission in Cameroon since February 18, 2024, for the preparation of the financing file for the Ngatt-Febadi-Likok road, an extension of the Lena-Tibati-Ngatt road, a team of three members from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) was received by the Minister of Public Works on February 23, 2024.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, the discussions between the two parties focused on one subject: the preparation of the financing file for the construction of the Ngatt-Febadi-Likok road, which extends over a length of 145 km.
“The audience today follows the visit made to the site by Mr. Alagi Basiru Gaye, head of the mission, accompanied by Etienne Bomba and Ibrahim Sirajo at the site where discussions with administrative authorities took place. The project is a continuation of Program Support for the Transport Sector I, which includes the development of the Batchenga Ntui-Yoko-Lena-Tibati road,” emphasized the Mintp.
The planned structuring envisions subdividing the length to be constructed into two lots, Ngatt-Febadi/Mambal-Tekel (68.4 km) and Tekel-Lewa-Louga-Likok (76.2 km). For the realization of this project, the IDB positions itself as the major financier with an estimated contribution of 80.90%, totaling 108.314 billion, and the State of Cameroon will contribute 12.171 billion, accounting for 10.10%.
Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi’s audience with the Islamic Development Bank team marks an important step in the preparation for the financing and construction of the Ngatt-Febadi-Likok road. This project, spanning 145 km, is part of a larger initiative to develop the transport sector in Cameroon. The collaboration between the IDB and the Cameroonian government highlights the importance of international partnerships in infrastructure development.
