Nigerian singer, Lil Frosh, expressed deep regret for ever having a girlfriend in a recent interview, as he discussed the impact of his ex-girlfriend’s assault allegations on his music career. In 2020, Lil Frosh’s contract with Davido Music Worldwide, DMW, was terminated by Davido himself after he was accused of assault by his ex-girlfriend, Gift Camille. Despite Camille later withdrawing her case against Lil Frosh in 2022, after settling out of court, Davido never reinstated the singer back to DMW, leaving him to struggle career-wise.
During his interview with Clout Africa, Lil Frosh maintained his innocence, claiming that the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend were false and had severely impacted his music career. While denying the accusations, Lil Frosh expressed how he regretted having a girlfriend, remarking that his ex-girlfriend’s “false allegations” had caused significant damage to his reputation and career.
Speaking on the matter, Lil Frosh stated, “My ex-girlfriend’s claims that she got beaten by me is false accusation, I won’t lie to you. I know nothing about it. And immediately she posted it online, I got kicked out of DMW. I left the record label the 6th of October, 2020, and since then I have been independent. I want my fans to know that I am not capable of assault. I am a cool guy. The way some people are judgemental about things they see online is alarming. If I had the opportunity to go back in time and change some things, I swear, I won’t have a girlfriend. I regret having a girlfriend.”
Lil Frosh also pleaded with his fans to intervene on his behalf and appeal to Davido to reinstate him to DMW. The singer expressed the hardships he has faced since his departure from the record label and voiced his desire to return to the music scene.
