Nollywood actress Rita Dominic recently opened up about her decision to wait before getting married. The 48-year-old actress tied the knot with Fidelis Anosike in April 2022, and in a recent interview with Joy 99.7 FM, she shared the reasons behind her delayed marriage.

Dominic explained that she wanted to make sure she was marrying for the right reasons and not just because of societal pressure. Despite facing pressure for years to settle down, she chose to ignore it until she felt ready. She emphasized that she wanted to marry the man of her dreams, not someone society expected her to be with.

She expressed, “Before I got married, the pressure was there for years but I just turned deaf ears. Because like I always say, ‘At the end of the day I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man that anybody dreams for me. If anything goes wrong tomorrow, I would be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society. So, I will do it when I want to do it at the right time.’ And I believe I did it at the right time with the right person.”

When asked if she struggled to find the ideal man, Dominic shared that she met several people but things just didn’t work out. She emphasized that she doesn’t believe in forcing relationships and if they’re not compatible, there’s no point in prolonging the inevitable. She acknowledged that sometimes things simply don’t work out, and it’s better to move on rather than force a relationship.

Dominic also made it clear that being a celebrity wasn’t the reason for her delayed marriage. She wanted to ensure that she was making the right decision for herself, independent of any external factors. Ultimately, she found the right time and the right person to share her life with, and she couldn’t be happier with her choice.

By waiting for the right moment and the right person, Dominic has shown that marriage is a deeply personal decision that shouldn’t be rushed or influenced by external pressures. She prioritized her own happiness and well-being, setting an example for others to follow their hearts and make decisions that are true to themselves.

In the end, Rita Dominic’s story serves as a reminder that love and marriage are individual journeys that unfold in their own time. By staying true to herself and her values, she found true love and happiness, proving that waiting for the right person is always worth it in the end.
