The Bureau of the Central African Youth Advisory Council (CCJC) indicated in a statement that it is not in favor of the call to protest against power outages.

Following the repeated power disruptions in the city of Bangui and its surroundings, the Civil Society Working Group (GTSC) called on the population to take to the streets to express their discontent and denounce the lack of government communication.

For its part, the Bureau of the Central African Youth Advisory Council believes that this is not the appropriate solution for resolving the crisis and is likely to cause public disorder, as crowds are emotional and difficult to contain.

Therefore, the Bureau calls on Central African Youth in general and more specifically those in Bangui and its surroundings to refrain in order to avoid any kind of manipulation that could lead to potentially unhealthy exploitation of the situation.

It also urges the Civil Society Working Group (GTSC) to prioritize dialogue as a peaceful means of resolving disputes.

Furthermore, the CCJC urges ENERCA to communicate regularly to the public and to do everything possible to restore the situation to normal within a reasonable time frame.
