Following the kidnapping of about ten people by armed men in the town of Yaloké, a delegation was sent from Bangui to meet with the local population.
The Minister of Energy and Water Resources Development, Bertrand Arthur Piri, led a delegation to Yaloké where civilians were abducted. The delegation went there to discuss with local authorities the rise of insecurity. “Cases of armed robbery, murder, and destruction of property and religious buildings” have created a climate of insecurity.
The objective of this mission is to raise awareness among local authorities, law enforcement, and representatives of different social groups about peace, stability, and social cohesion between the two communities of Yaloké, specifically the Muslim and Christian communities, in light of the insecurity caused by armed bandits in this mining town in the Central African Republic. The mission warns that those who continue to cause unrest will be pursued by the Central African justice system.
