On February 21, 2024, in Obo, the first phase of the Community Violence Reduction Program (CVR) was launched, aimed at youth prone to violence, former members of self-defense groups, and members of different communities in the city of Obo.

The necessary materials will be provided to them to carry out sanitation work in the city, as well as to improve markets, schools, and roads, in exchange for payment.

The Prefect of Haut-Mbomou, Judes Ngayoko, expressed gratitude towards MINUSCA for this initiative in favor of the residents of Obo, and encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of it to combat unemployment and poverty.

This phase of the program will benefit 100 people, including 40 women. It will take place in three phases, each lasting three months.
