The Minister in charge of Water Resources, Bertrand Artur Piri, chaired a meeting on February 27th regarding the construction project of the new water pumping station and floating dewatering station in Bangui.

The discussions between the Minister, his collaborators, and the company in charge of the works focused on the implementation of the project for building the new raw water pumping station and floating dewatering station.

This project also includes the replacement of discharge pipes to be carried out between the pumping station and the water treatment plant of the Water Distribution Company in the Central African Republic (SODECA). The aim is also to “evaluate the works and see how to advance activities that have been significantly delayed compared to the execution deadline for the well-being of the people and the improvement of access to drinking water for the residents of Bangui, Bimbo, and Bégoua.”

According to the technical director of the group of Chinese companies CRCC11 and HYZ, Xie Feng Bo, the delay in the implementation of this project is due to a money transfer issue.

Minister Bertrand Artur Piri instructed the project coordination unit and technicians from his department to do everything possible for the success of this project funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in the Central African Republic.
