The coordination of the “National Union” party celebrated its 32nd anniversary on March 9th in Massenya, the capital of the Chari Baguirmi province, under the sign of unity among the sons and daughters of Chad.
During this celebration, the coordination officially declared its “unwavering” support and membership in the coalition for a united Chad with the aim of achieving an “overwhelming” victory in the presidential election’s first round. This statement emphasizes the commitment of the National Union to work in collaboration with other political forces for the well-being and progress of the country, according to the coordinator and interim president of the party, Richard Kindé.
The coordinator took the opportunity to pay tribute to the party’s founding father and first president, the late Lamana Abdoulaye. He said, “We would like to take advantage of this great ceremony to inform the national and international opinion about the revitalization of the National Union with an objective vision in order to contribute to the rebirth process of the country of Toumaï after so many years of suffering.”
His Majesty Mbang Hadji Holly Mahamat, Sultan of Baguirmi, expressed his satisfaction at participating in this ceremony and testified that the National Union has decided to support the candidate Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno because he is the “ideal” candidate of the coalition for a united Chad. “It was in 2012, after the municipal elections, that we decided together with the late Abdoulaye Lamana that the National Union would suspend its activities and align itself with the MPS party,” he said.
