Police in Iganga District have arrested 31 people and recovered three pangas during an intelligence-led operation targeting suspected criminal hideouts and crime hotspots in the district.
ASP Michael Kasadha, the Busoga East Regional Police spokesperson, said the operation targeted areas where suspects allegedly gather to smoke opium before waylaying members of the public and robbing them of their property.
“The operation resulted in the arrest of 30 males and one female, with three pangas recovered from suspects arrested in Buligo,” Mr Kasadha said.
