Pearl Bank to pay Shs16m over former employee’s unfair termination

Four judges of the Industrial Court have ruled in favour of a former PostBank employee, Mr Ronald Onenchan, finding that his termination through redundancy was procedurally and substantively unfair.

The ruling means Pearl Bank, formerly PostBank, will have to pay Onenchan compensation following his termination of employment.

In the August 31 ruling read on behalf of the four-member panel by Industrial Court Judge Anthony Wabwire Musana, the court awarded Onenchan Shs13 million for the unfair termination.
