The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, says the party is prepared to rescue Nigeria’s democracy, which he warned is currently under serious threat.
Speaking in Bauchi on Friday, Damagum expressed worry over what he described as deliberate attempts to undermine the nation’s democratic institutions.
He assured that the PDP is positioned to restore stability and protect the will of the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Nigeria’s democracy is facing challenges ranging from poor governance to insecurity and economic hardship. The country urgently requires political intervention,” he said.
