Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are not worried about the party’s shrinking number of governors, insisting the current crisis within the party will pass.
Makinde spoke on Tuesday in Abuja during an expanded meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), describing the ongoing defections from the party as a challenging period for PDP leaders, members and Nigeria’s democracy.
His remarks came a day after Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara State, announced his resignation from the PDP, leaving Makinde and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State as the party’s only remaining governors.
