Uganda’s Muslim community has received a boost ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, with the Uganda Bureau of Hajj Affairs (UBHA) confirming that 1,546 pilgrims have been fully cleared to travel to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
During a send-off and sensitisation event held at Wandegeya Mosque on Friday, Prince Dr Kassim Nakibinge, the titular head of Muslims in Uganda, praised UBHA for streamlining Hajj operations and restoring order in pilgrimage management.
He said the system had helped end years of confusion that previously affected the process.
