The Directorate of Politics and Governance, DPG, Osun State Chapter, had demanded that the Christian community in the state should produce the next governor.

The group which is an arm of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, said the emergence of a Christian governor would encourage justice and fairness.

DPG also denounced what it described as wrong statistics being bandied around that Muslims make up 67 percent of the state’s population. Rather, it claimed that correct data shows that Christian population in the state currently stands at 47 percent, Muslims 43 percent and others 10 percent.

The demand formed part of the resolution of the group after a one day seminar held in Osogbo at the weekend. The event…
