Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the Nigeria Police Force to uphold neutrality as preparations for the 2026 governorship election gather momentum in the state.
In a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo, the State Chairman of the PDP, Sunday Bisi, commended the Inspector-General of Police and the State Commissioner of Police for their professionalism but raised concerns over what he described as a troubling trend of arrests and detentions of PDP members.
According to the party, the pattern suggests possible collusion between the All Progressives Congress, APC, and certain officers within the police.
