Pro Helvetia is currently accepting applications from individuals and artist duos in various cultural disciplines. This opportunity is specifically targeted at cultural practitioners who are active in the regions of the liaison offices. Selection criteria include a strong motivation for the desired context, a good command of English or the language(s) of the country in question, and a concrete research topic with lasting impact.
Financial contributions for selected applicants include accommodation, travel costs, daily allowances, professional support, and the option for a workstation and contribution towards production/material costs. Additionally, parents can apply for financial support towards childcare or travel expenses for their children and caregivers, up to CHF1 000 per month. An approximate budget of all expenses must be submitted in advance.
Applicants are required to provide a detailed explanation of their motivation, desired length of stay and destination, as well as a CV and portfolio. The application must be submitted in English. Cultural practitioners from countries outside the Pro Helvetia liaison offices’ area of responsibility are excluded from applying.
The application period runs from January 1, 2024, to March 1, 2024, with decisions communicated within four months. The earliest start date for the project will be the following year. Pro Helvetia advises that they do not assume responsibility for visa applications for artists, children, partners, family members, or caregivers.
Interested cultural practitioners can apply through the Pro Helvetia website before March 1, 2024. More information about the residency opportunity can be found on the original call link.
