Diaspora artists residing in Europe have the opportunity to apply for a program aimed at emerging artists in world music who are seeking to advance their music careers and expand their international audience. Successful applicants will have the chance to perform in front of program directors and curators of major world music festivals and concert venues in Europe, as well as gain valuable knowledge and expand their professional contacts.
The call is open to artists who meet specific criteria and are legal residents of eligible countries, including EU countries, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Georgia, Armenia, Tunisia, and Ukraine. An emerging European artist is defined as one who meets at least five of the specified conditions, such as having released a maximum of three albums, having no more than 20,000 social media followers, and not having a contract with a non-national record label, among others.
A total of 12 artists or bands will be selected for the showcase, which will take place on 4 and 5 July. Selected participants will receive a budget of €500, hotel accommodation for three nights, full access to the festival area, conference, networking sessions, and the delegates database, as well as a video recording of their showcase performance.
Applications will be evaluated by a five-member international jury, with the selected artists being announced on 11 March. Interested artists should submit their application before 9 February and can find more information about the call by emailing [email protected]. The original call and application link can be viewed on the atojazz.bg website.
Overall, this program offers a valuable opportunity for diaspora artists in Europe to showcase their talents, connect with industry professionals, and advance their music careers on an international level.
