Dr. Mohamed Bahaidar has come a long way from being labeled a failure to becoming a successful businessman and motivational speaker. Growing up, he faced challenges with poor comprehension skills and was often teased by classmates, but he has since overcome his insecurities and gained greater self-awareness.

Dr. Mohamed is the CEO of IQRA FM and has also established himself as a prolific motivational speaker, business consultant, media personality, and author of five inspirational books. His journey to success is backed by academic achievements, holding a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, a Master’s degree in the same field, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Management (PhD) from the University of Newcastle.

Despite being labeled an underachiever, Dr. Mohamed has always had big dreams. His strong problem-solving and financial skills led him to pursue a career as an ambassador. Although he faced setbacks with failed startups, such as a restaurant in Malaysia, he learned from his mistakes and discovered a passion for helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Dr. Mohamed observed a gap in the market where many entrepreneurs were unaware of the mistakes they were making. This realization led him to become a business consultant focused on assisting companies in every department, rather than specializing in a single area like accounting, finance, marketing, or human resources.

His role at IQRA FM as CEO involved modernizing the Islamic Radio Station and establishing it as one of Kenya’s most prominent media outlets. He focused on rebranding and relaunching the station with quality shows and content, with a mission to inform, entertain, captivate, and educate youth, adults, and the general public.

One of his most successful projects was a consulting assignment in Zanzibar, where he was able to turnaround a company’s water vending operation, increasing sales and decreasing theft. His unique strengths lie in his ability to face his shortcomings, capacity for persuasion, and realistically optimistic approach, which allows him to see opportunities when others do not.

Dr. Mohamed is motivated by getting good results, and he dedicates everything he has—his time, money, and energy—to his focus because failure is not an option for him. His biggest fear is not living up to his potential and disappointing himself and others, which stems from his early experiences of being perceived as incapable of succeeding in life.

He draws inspiration from Umar Ibn Abdulaziz, a mentor and administrator in history, and aspires to follow in his footsteps and pursue his original desire of becoming an ambassador.

Dr. Mohamed Bahaidar’s journey from being labeled a failure to becoming a successful business leader, motivational speaker, and author is a testament to his resilience, determination, and passion for helping others achieve greatness. His story serves as an inspiration to SMEs and young people looking to overcome their own challenges and achieve their dreams.
